An action-packed and exciting novel that ramps up the tension with each chapter. Adam is a great character - despite being thrust into an incredibly dangerous and strange scenario, he was brave and determined to protect those around him and to survive. Coron was a fantastic villain; it was scary believable as there really are people that are that warped and believe in their delusions.
It was impressive for a début novel, the only thing that let it down ever so slightly was that the end sequence was a bit too short - it felt like it had been built up so much that it could've used a bit of extra time. But overall I was very impressed and I'd definitely read more by this author.
